Belle Maison Archives :: On Trend with Pastels

Hello there! I hope you all had a fun Halloween. We sure did - I dressed my 18 month old as a tiny cowboy and he looked adorable :) I was away on business this week and decided to re-share some popular archived blog posts. This one is from 2010 and covers the trend report of pastels. Well, I'm not sure if they really made a big impact back then, but apparently in the year 2014, pastels are supposed to make a strong come-back in the world of design. We shall see! How do you feel about pastels in your home? 

I just received the [April 2010] issue of Elle Decor and it looks like Pastels are making their way into the design and fashion world. I'm really liking the fresh updated look of this soft color palette - it's a nice change from a lot of the bright, busy colors and patterns we've been seeing lately. I've rounded up some pastel-fresh spaces that really show off this spring trend.

    I love the yellow and grey bathroom- such unusual colours to use in such a room but so effective and fresh!

    I'm loving pastels right now! We are restoring a 1902 home and have decided on pastel green and pastel yellow for the guest bedrooms. Our formal living room is also a very light pink! You can see our color choices here: http://702parkproject.com/2013/10/22/painting-for-guests/ :)
