The White Kitchen
What is it about an all white kitchen that gets us so excited? Every time I post a picture of a white kitchen on my blog (like the one in yesterday's post), the response is overwhelming! So why do we love the white kitchen? I have a few theories: much like a crisp white tablecloth at a restaurant, the white kitchen is clean and fresh and makes you want to sit down to enjoy a delicious meal; prepping and cooking on a crisp white surface is enticing; everything looks good against white - a bowl of fresh lemons, colorful bottles of olive oil, a vase of bright pink peonies, metallic light fixtures, gold accessories...it all works! I'm guessing they may take a little more maintenance to keep sparkly clean, but I don't think I'd mind. What do you love about white kitchens?
I love that exposed wooden island topper in the modern space - a slice of offbeat style.
ReplyDeleteI am addicted to whtie kitchens. Ever since I can remember I have been inspired by the light that seems to play in white kitchens. I pray I am blessed one day with a kitchen such as these.
ReplyDeleteI think it's because there are no distractions with White kitchens they really are so pure and glamorous!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful roundup!
I must have a white kitchen in my next home! I love a light, bright and open space. I do also have to agree that food looks appetizing in a clean space.
ReplyDeleteLove white kitchens and that's next on my big project list for my house. It seems like woods of different colors and types come in trends for kitchens, while white to me always seems current and classic.
ReplyDeleteI am also dreaming of turning a rather gloomy and dark cherrywood-coloured kitchen of mine into a white, fresh and light kitchen :). There is just something about white - it looks clean and calm, and classic. It is hard to get "bored" with, since it is so easy to spice up with any color and almost any theme, in any season. That's why it is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteNice and inspiring pics!
ReplyDeletewhite gives an air of clean and freshness. i have the darkest old kitchen {and no window in it does not help}. some day, if i ever have my dream kitchen, it will be filled with white and accents of green or maybe orange. but it will be open and bright and white! some day...
ReplyDeletei absolutely love that second and last kitchen... and the one with the farm sink! that's another dream of mine!
They look so clean! And everything goes with white!
ReplyDeleteI have a passion for white wood and kitchens have so many reasons to use it. My entire house is influenced by this love, but I have to admit I did not put white cabinets in my kitchen because they just were not practical with four sons still at home. They are grown now and I am looking at those oak cabinets thinking "hmmmmmmm.....chalk paint and a lot of work but I cOULd get those cabinets I always dreamed of if I really wanted..." Thanks for the wonderful pics. Until lately, I've always felt a little oddball for my love of white. Mary from The White Barn in OK ;)
