When Ikats began surfacing a couple years ago in home fabrics and textiles, I didn't care for them very much...they reminded of something you'd see in dated South Western decor. But as I began seeing ikats more and more in bright colors and updated patterns, they began to grow on me. According to Wikipedia:
"Ikat, or Ikkat, is a dyeing technique used to pattern textiles that employs a resist dyeing process similar to tie-dye on either the warp or weft fibers." This versatile pattern can be incorporated into traditional, eclectic or modern designs, which is what I love most about it. Today I've rounded up some great examples of how to stylishly incorporate Ikats into your decor. What do you think about this trend?
