“Matchy-matchy is not for me. I don’t want things to be too perfect. It’s like pairing a matte top with a shiny skirt, so they play off each other. I want there to be relationships with texture and color, and sometimes it’s more about the contrast that chimes."

QUOTE FROM ELLE DECOR
Hi Julie...I agree with Peter Som completely. And I love that 1st image. Have a lovely week, pretty one...
ReplyDeleteI agree that matchy matchy isn't the best way to go. You never see a matched bedroom set in a photo of a room that makes you drool, for example. A mixture adds visual interest!

I couldn't agree more with that quote. A home should feel lived-in! :)

ReplyDeletelove the quotes you choose! perfect! xxo em
ReplyDeleteTotally agreed, nothing worse than predictability! Rooms need to reflect persons personality , and be interesting.. Even when simple and monochromatic! Great posted pics!
ReplyDeleteThese are all spaces I would be thrilled to have in my home! They all have that extra "something"!

Excellent quote and inspiration spaces!
ReplyDeleteAgreed, though I suppose you could look at it in the way that if you have chosen a particular piece to "chime" with another, you have matched them. In certain cases, 2 things just do not belong together..but in these photos, it all works well! Very cool stuff
ReplyDeleteMy philosophy exactly. Such great inspiration.
ReplyDeleteLove the first image.. and the seven sins chair.
ReplyDeleteSome lovely decor. I am looking for something similar for my home.
