"Our homes should support us in our hour of need, comfort us in both meanings of the word, emotionally and physically. We need our homes to help us feel less vulnerable, feel better, feel good. We need them to give us the time, space, and security that are missing today."
- Ilse Crawford, Home Is Where The Heart Is

These words are quite right today! And they are wonderful spaces that accompany them.
ReplyDeleteRegards!
I love this quote. It has proved true to me time and time again. So inspiring, as usual!
ReplyDeletegreat quote! I completely agree - whether you've had a bad day or you've returned home from a trip, there's nothing like walking into the comfort of your own beautiful home and letting it hug you! :)
ReplyDeleteI completely agree that one's home should be their retreat, their source of happiness and escape from the world.
ReplyDeleteI've got to say I heartily agree with this quote. Something we say over here across the pond is that 'An Englishman's home is his castle.' The same sentiment :-)
ReplyDeleteOur homes are our refuge, somewhere to feel relaxed and safe.
I absolutely agree. I posed the question in a post long ago: what makes a house a home? And I think its an emotional thing that happens over time that achieves the feelings in that quote! I have been eying that dining room with the blue chairs. I believe that space would make me feel like home.
ReplyDeleteAmen! This quote sums up why I love spending so much time at home; and justifies all the time, energy, and money I've spent making it my personal oasis :)
ReplyDeleteLove the quote...the dine in kitchen with the farmhouse table is fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteI need a vacation in the last photo!
