Home Tour: Coco Rochas, Model

One of my readers recently sent me a link to this home tour via Vogue and I fell in love immediately. Located in Gramercy Park, Manhattan, this apartment is owned by model Coco Rocha and her husband, artist James Conran. “Every spot in this house has a story,” says Coco. “And James remembers everything, so he can tell you what is behind each and every item.” I love that! To me, a home should tell a story and be filled with things that mean something to the owner. It's much more personal and interesting that way, don't you think? Enjoy the tour!

Rocha created this mirrored wall display for under $200 with mirrors from Crate & Barrel

Rocha found this small dress form on the street and it had a few pennies glued onto it. She loved the idea so she continued gluing pennies on it until it was covered. Then she added the peacock feathers just for fun. What a glamorous and easy DIY project!

“My closet is full of a lot of vintage pieces, and everything is very random,”says Rocha.

Rocha incorporated a built-in makeup counter in her closet. My dream, for sure!

“These teapots are from all the different places I have been to for photo shoots—from Morocco to Michigan,” Rocha says. “It was James’s idea to cover the books in old newspaper, and one of the books is actually wrapped in a paper from June 1911, which is almost 100 years before our wedding date.”

This YSL bag is actually a piggy bank!

The photograph in this picture was a wedding gift to the couple

  2. I just fell in love, too. Thanks for sharing this piece, Coco and James' place is absolutely stunning! I love that it really is "random" but at the same time so put together. There's definitely no matchy-match going on here but the fact that each corner of their home has a story behind it really brings the place together.
