I stumbled across this gorgeous living room via
Bright Bazaar and instantly fell in love, especially with the silhouette art above the sofa. I've been eying that fantastic black frame (name:
Ung Drill - $24.99) from IKEA for going on 2 years now and never even considered doing something like this! Anyone have this frame in their home? What did you put in it?
I love the black & white with pink walls. So unique...and it looks so snappy, doesn't it?
ReplyDeletethat does look good. I have a couple of mirrors in frames which are similar, but vintage. they had a gold finish and are made of some sort of composite, you know the type. I painted them a wild color and they look great. these reminded me of mine; a mirror would look good there, too...
ReplyDeleteI have one of these frames in my guest bedroom that sits empty. What a great idea! I also found a vintage one with a mirror a few months back that's just beautiful. It's waiting for a fresh coat of paint and will be used as the mirror above my vanity when I get my master bedroom remodeled next month :)
ReplyDeleteI put cork liner in the back of mine and hang jewelry from it. I LOVE how it turned out. I love this picture though so lovely!
ReplyDeleteI love this. I have the frame and I am not sure on what I should do. This really helps out! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteah, love this! im obsessed with vintage cameo jewelry, but i haven't sprung for a piece. this is a perfect way to satiate that desire. adding this to the "if i didnt live with my boyfriend" list [i actually just blogged about all my others like... damask wallpaper, fainting sofas, etc..]. sigh!
ReplyDeleteI have this frame! It's so wonderful and lightweight. I got a mirror cut to fit it, and it hangs on my dorm room wall.
ReplyDeleteI actually have this frame, but it has been on the floor with my other frames to be hanged someday... but I love the idea from the picture you posted!
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, that looks fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteI have a similar frame to this one, and my daughter uses it as a mood board. I covered the back with pretty fabric and it's where she displays all of the images she's collected. But I do like the silhouette idea, might need to steal that one! K xx
ReplyDeleteI have this frame, I put some colorful fabric in it.
ReplyDeletei love this! totally doing it in my new place!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the shout out, Jules! Also, lovely to have you stop by my blog. The frames are proving really popular - Ikea does have some gems!
ReplyDeleteI love it. Actually I love IKEA but I have never ever seen such a frame there.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful :)))
thank you.

i've been thinking about buying that frame from ikea for awhile now too. i saw it in a nursery on project nursery-real rooms. they painted it yellow and placed vintage fabric inside. looked stunning.
ReplyDeleteI've thinking about getting a silhouette painting for a while no, thanks for the great idea!
ReplyDeleteThis frame is great, and the price from IKEA makes it even better! I purchased it just last week and plan to spray paint it an orange color to go with the storage bins in my home design office, and replace the glass with cork board so I am able to post all my design inspirations ... love love love
