Fashion Inspired Design Concept: Summer Chic

You never know what will inspire a new color scheme or design concept. It can be anything from a piece of art, gorgeous jewelry, a fabric swatch, or even a lovely dress. I came across the Crochet Watercolor Floral Dress by Bluemarine (below) and it instantly inspired me to create a new design concept. The soft colorful pattern looks like a watercolor painting and the details of the turquoise beaded belt and crocheted neckline add a touch of texture and style. The final look: Summer Chic - feminine, relaxed with a touch of sophistication. What inspires you?! Please share!

    Beautifully done! As an artist-designer I get my inspiration from just about anywhere, whether I am on my bike in Amsterdam, flipping through a magazine, drawings of my daugther. I find it hard sometimes to edit all that inspires me into a balanced painting or pproduct, but it is a process. Rome wasn't build in a day either!

    in. love.! my nyc apt is stark-white, and i always feel self-conscious about it. but blog posts like these are making me see the possibilities! i need to find some of these amazing, bright, eye-catching accessories.

    what inspires me? clothing, too! vintage clothing, fashion magazines.. even interior design, but it all goes back to clothes. obviously.. [the blog name pretty much says it all!]
