"You may concentrate on appearances all through the rest of your house, but in the bedroom comfort should be supreme. I think that bedrooms should also be very intimate rooms-they should express your personal preferences in every way...Of all the rooms in the house your bedroom is yours.
- Dorothy Draper
very nice pictures! Couldn't agree with the quote more :)
ReplyDeleteAn excellent quote---and one that is about so much more than interior design! To me this an important reminder about caring for your soul and your inner self...I know for me, my bedroom is the last holdout of 'ugly' in my house simply because no one else sees it. But this inspires me to take care of that room for the same reasons that I exercise, try to eat right, and allow little indulgences like an occasional manicure.
ReplyDeleteIf you treat yourself---and your bedroom!---with the same love that you treat others, you're stronger, healthier, and more full of peave and positive energy in general.
I really enjoy your weekly quotes! I do think though that ALL the rooms in your house should be yours. Is that selfish?
ReplyDeleteOh yes the bedroom is so important!
ReplyDeleteAmen :)
ReplyDeleteLovely, lovely picks, darling!
Oh I can't wait to have a nice bedroom!.... what to do and how to do it?... too much to think about at present... but I saved your images! Thanks! A-M xx
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely bedrooms!! I am in the process of adding some beauty to my own room. What would you say is a soothing paint color for a master bedroom?
ReplyDeleteI totally agree. I want to look at my bedroom and feel at peace, and nice and cozy, too. There's nothing like a nice soft bed at the end of a hard day...or sleeping in on a lazy Saturday, for that matter!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Rooms! Truly lovely post! Hope all is well with you!
ReplyDeleteLove love the bottom bedroom:)
ReplyDeletethe Dorothy Draper quote is absolutely spot on and the bedroom images aren't bad either. Lovely post.
ReplyDeleteI love that the first & last are platform beds--we've been hunting for an affordable (but not crappy) one for at least a year.
ReplyDeleteThat is so true about the bedroom. It often is neglected. Mine is off to a good start, but could use more. These bedrooms are inspiring.
ReplyDeletewhat a beautiful bedroom in the last pic.
ReplyDeletethe floor lamp is exquisite.
