According to Metropolitan Home, the next up-and-coming trend, called "Zoocentric," is all about animal inspired home designs.
A stainless steel Kangaroo Bowl, a resin Lion Stand and a resin Arthur Bench (not sure what animal it's inspired by??). I feel hesitant on this trend...I always try to be open to new things and love unique home accents, but if I gave my client a bowl with legs and a tail, they might second guess why they hired me...what are your thoughts on this new trend? Please share!

Interesting trend to watch - thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeletenot sure how i feel about the animal leg thing. sometimes its subtle and i like it, other times it sort of creeps me out. it just depends on the piece i guess.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, that kangaroo bowl is amazing.
ReplyDeleteI think this trend has been pretty evident more in the use of wall decals (birds everywhere) as well as the sudden prevalence of antlers in every shape & form.
I think it's a little out there, but I quite like that bowl!
ReplyDeleteNew take on an old trend...
ReplyDeleteI have a great antique Duncan Phife dining table with lion paw/claw brass feet...
What goes around comes around again... sometimes a little more OUT there!
Good for conversation!
That's for sure! Furniture inspired by animals is nothing new...but you're right about it being a little more OUT there each time!
ReplyDeletei like it because it's funny. the black lion stand is something i actually considered buying at one point. the other two look a little too real to me. the tail is hilarious.
ReplyDeleteYes, I too love unique home accents & your latest Zoocentric trend is just fantastic.
