I did a photo gallery post a while back about my obsession with old doorways and I feel somewhat the same about photographs of bicycles...I found all of these great images and realized that there's something very special about a bicycle photographed as art. I can't help but wonder who's been riding around on the bike, where they came from, where they're going and why they've stopped riding for the moment. To me, bicycles represent a sense of freedom - getting fresh air out in the open on a beautiful day, reminiscent of riding around until dusk as a child all summer. I don't ride bikes nearly enough as an adult! i got curious about your blog seeing your picture on one of cottage industries post. my friends daughters name is jools (almost simular) and i got inspired by the print you've used, than when i came to your blog it started with someting about french, where i'll be going this saturday and i saw a lot of bikes, kind of like a dutch thing, so i just wanted to let you know i really like the picturs of your blog. a timely post for me, as i just got back on the bike after years of being away. i love all of these photos. my hubby and i just talked about me trading in the mountain bike (i don't really use on trails) and getting me a regular old bike with a basket and all - how fun!
ReplyDeleteThe boyfriend and I agreed that our favorite photos from Belize were of the bikes (brightly colored against brightly colored walls.) These are just great.
