Okay, so I'm trying to see the brighter side of things in my life...today was my last day at my job of four years. It was my dream job - I was a project manager / interior designer for a firm that specialized in designing model homes. Business was great until last year, when the housing market started to go down in flames and as a result, my boss was forced to "downsize"her business to just herself and her husband. It's all very bittersweet for me. I'm sad to close that chapter in my life but am really looking forward to what God's plan is for me and where I'll end up next. I've wanted to start my own business for about 7 years and now is the time! We'll see where I end up and how long I can keep this positive, light-hearted attitude (check back in a week - I'm sure it'll be a bit different...). Anyway, I'm looking forward to more time for blogging and for doing some much needed "blog hopping." There are so many fantastic blogs out there! If you'd like me to visit yours, please leave a comment!

I hope that even though you'll miss it, you get a sense of freedom and exploration from this change. And enjoy your extra time for blog hopping!

ReplyDeleteThink positive! It is a scary time for home decorating/designing business. My business is a bit quieter than usual. I have tried a new realm... decorating commercially... offices. I may never have turned to commercial decorating if it weren't for this economy... gotta look for the silver lining in everything!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I've been self-employed for 13 years (different industry from design) and agree with Fifi Flowers' advice about thinking positively. You can so do this!
